The Mount Olive Correctional Complex, which opened in 1995, is West Virginia’s only maximum-security correctional facility. Mount Olive has a capacity of 1,030 male inmates and a 48-bed minimum security Slayton Work Camp on the grounds. Due to the complex’s size, it has its own zip code, water supply, fuel depot, and post office power plant.
